The Red-Eyed Bulbul

Pycnonotus nigricans

Veramente comune.
Lo si vede dappertutto
ed è molto confidente.
---Really common.
You can see it everywhere
and it is very confident.

I disagree Andrea as I have never seen one before in the areas where I go, I see only the black-eyed one so this is an amazing picture for me. That eye marking is most distinctive and I have always thought it was the eye itself which was red and did not know it had a red ring around it. Thanks for teaching me something new my friend.

Andrea - I have never seen one of these birds in South Africa. Great pictures.

Joan and Zane:
Sorry, maybe I made a mistake, but my book of birds gives a large area in South Africa for this Bulbul.
In Kalahari I saw it many times, maybe it's common only there...
