Il Tasso del Miele - The Honey Badger

Mellivora capensis

poche speranze a chiunque.
---Not easy to meet it:it's nocturnal.
Absolutely brave:its motto is: "attack is the best defense".
Doesn't matter how big is the other animal:the Honey Badger
attacks even if the adversary is a leopard.Keep away from these
small animals... It can resist to snake bites even if the bite
could kill a man: the Honey Badger survives.
Small, but mighty. All the other animals in the bush have to thank
God it's less than one meter from nose to tail...

What great shots Andrea. They are vicious little creatures and ones I do not wish to tangle with. I have seen what those claws can do to an anthill or a beeehive.

Great shots, Andrea. You were lucky to see him during the day! We have badgers here, too (though of a different sort) -- and they are fierce and unrelenting. One badger will stand off an entire pack of big dogs.

I especially like the photo where the badger is slipping into the water. I've never see one here, but as so often happens, your post has inspired me to seek out more information. I learned from this link that they are endangered.
