Decisamente grande:equivale al nostro Gufo reale.
Comune:lo abbiamo visto molte volte,ma rami e rametti hanno fatto strage
del mio autofocus.
--- Very big: it is very similar to the european king owl.
Really common:we saw it many times,but leaves and branches "killed"
my autofocus.

Kij Kij Pride Members

Il Branco era composto di soli tre membri adulti e 7 tra subadulti e cuccioli.
Nel post precedente avete visto la Leader.Qui il bellissimo e giovane maschio e la cacciatrice
numero due.Questa femmina era visibilmente più giovane dell'altra,ma aveva un fisico decisamente
più possente. Il maschio nelle pause teneva accanto a se tutti i giovani e non disdegnava le loro dimostrazioni
di affetto.Mi sono piaciuti perchè davano idea di grande armonia ed organizzazione. Un tipo che passava
mi ha riferito che li aveva incontrati già alcuni mesi prima e i piccoli erano sempre 7:segno che non ne
avevano perso neppure uno. Quest'anno sarà veramente un bel branco.

In the last post you saw the Leader. Here there is the beautiful and young male and the hunter
number two.This female was younger than the Leader but fisically impressive:big and powerful.
The male was used to stay close to the youngsters and he seemed to be happy about their grooming
and play.I liked them for the armony and organization.A man passing there told me he saw them some
months before and the cubs were always 7:meaning they didn't loose any.This year it will really be a beautiful
Pride.

La Regina - The Queen

Il Branco di Kij Kij aveva una Leader indiscussa. Lei decideva tutto: dove andare e cosa fare.
nella terza foto sta esortando il resto del branco a seguirla. Sono molto orgoglioso dell'ultima foto.
Mi stava guardando fisso,ma ho continuato a scattare.

In the third picture She is calling the pride to move. I am very proud about the last picture. She was
fixing me,but I contined to take shots.

più scuro.Molto comune.

Grande.Molto simile come dimensioni al nostro Avvoltoio Monaco,
stesso peso e apertura alare tra i 250 ei 295 cm.
E'comune,ma trovarne uno in posa fotogenica non è frequente.

---Massive.Very similar to the european Monk (or Black) Vulture,
same weight and wingspan (250 - 295 cm).
Common,but it's not easy to find one alone for a good shot.

Innamorati - In Love

Un maschio e una femmina di Ghepardo stavano distesi accanto alla loro preda.
Poi iniziarono a rincorrersi e a giocare. Era evidentemente una coppia in fase
di corteggiamento ( Sequenza di Roberta,Nikon D700).

Sicuramente era molto rilassata e ci lasciò avvicinare tantissimo.

Sulla Collina - On the Top of the Hill

Era in cima ad una collina di fronte alla pozza che prende in nome dal Leone più famoso
del Kgalagadi: Kwang. Mi piace pensare che possa essere uno dei suoi figli o nipoti.
Cosa peraltro molto possibile.
---He was on the top of the hill in front of Kwang Waterhole.
Kwang was the most famous Lion of the Kgalagadi. I like to think this one was one
of his sons or a nephew. It is more than a possibility.

Lo trovammo in una mattina molto fredda. Aveva ucciso uno Gnù durante la notte.
Ogni tanto si alzava e andava a bere un po'.
---We found Him in a very cold morning. He killed a wildbeest in the night.
