Kij Kij Pride Members
--- In this pride there were only three adult members and 7 subadults and cubs.
In the last post you saw the Leader. Here there is the beautiful and young male and the hunter
number two. This female was younger than the Leader but fisically impressive:big and powerful.
The male was used to stay close to the youngsters and he seemed to be happy about their grooming
and play.I liked them for the armony and organization.A man passing there told me he saw them some
months before and the cubs were always 7:meaning they didn't loose any. This year it will really be a beautiful
Pride.

La Regina - The Queen
Il Branco di Kij Kij aveva una Leader indiscussa. Lei decideva tutto: dove andare e cosa fare.
--- This is the Kij Kij Pride total Leader. She decided everything:where to go and what to do.
In the third picture She is calling the pride to move. I am very proud about the last picture. She was
fixing me,but I contined to take shots.

I Leoni pensano? - Do Lions think?

---There is one second between the first and the second shot.
10 seconds between the second and the third.
The expression changes.
It comes the doubt there is some thought inside
that big head...

Sonno - Sleep

L'ultimo post era sull'ultimo giorno.
Qui siamo al primo, appena entrati nel
parco.
---Last post was about the last day.
Here we are at the first day, just inside the Park.
When I saw them I thought to an american turist,
last year:he was really upset when he knew it was
forbidden to walk alone in Kgalagadi...

L' ultimo Leone - The last Lion
Questo maschio è stato l'ultimo leone
incontrato quest'anno.
Eravamo nel Parco di Pilanesberg
insieme a Joan.
---This is the last Lion we met this year.
We were in Pilanesberg National Park, together
with Joan.
As you can see he was a bit upset and slightly
wounded after a "discussion" with another male...

Sulla Strada - On the Road

---Lions like very much to walk on the soft
thin dust of the park roads.
I also tryed and it's relly nice:it's like
to walk on talcum powder.
So,when they move it's easy to find them
on the same roads we are driving.

Dove sei, Fratello? - Where are you,Brother?

cercava qualcosa,lontano.
Finalmente ne apparve un altro,leggermente
zoppicante.
Quando ci passò accanto vedemmo che aveva
delle vecchie,ma gravi ferite al ginocchio
e sulla schiena.
Raggiunse il primo,si strofinarono
spalla contro spalla e se ne andarono.
Vicini.
Questa doveva essere stata la storia:
due fratelli,uno era rimasto gravemente
ferito in uno scontro con altri Leoni.
L'altro lo aveva aiutato,aveva cacciato
per lui e forse lottato ancora per
proteggerlo.
Per i giovani Leoni un fratello
è importante...
---A Lion was waiting on the side
of one hill.
Watching far.
Finally another Lion arrived,not
perfectly walking:he had old but
deep wounds on a knee and on the
back.He reached the first,they rubbed
each other and shoulder by shoulder
they walked away.
This was the story:
two brothers,one had been seriously
wounded by another big male,the
other protected him,fighting and
hunting for him.
For young Lions to be brothers
is important...
